VOTER REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Registration Deadline.
The fifth Monday before any general primary, general election, or presidential preference primary. The fifth day after the date of the call for all other special primaries and special elections.Line 6: ID Number. Your social security number is required. Your social security number will remain confidential and will not be disclosed except as required by law. The number will be used to identify and verify the identity of voters (Georgia Election Code, O.C.G.A. Ch. 21-2).
Line 7: Choice of Party. You do not have to register with a party to take part in that party’s primary, caucus or convention.
Line 8: Race or Ethnic Group. You are requested to fill in this box. See the list of choices under the Application Instructions for Box 8 (on page 2).
Line 9: Signature. To register in Georgia you must:
1) be a citizen of the United States; 2) be a legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you want to vote; 3) be 18 years old within six months after the day of registration, and be 18 years old to vote; 4) not be serving a sentence for having been convicted of a felony; 5) not have been judicially determined to be mentally incompetent, unless the disability has been removed.
