VOTER REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Registration Deadline. 9:00 p.m. 21 days before the election.
Line 6: ID Number. The disclosure of your Social Security number is voluntary. The statutory authority allowing election officials to request your Social Security number is contained in Article 33, Section 3-202, Annotated Code of Maryland. The number will be used only for registration and other administrative purposes. It will be kept confidential.
Line 7: Choice of Party. You must register with a party if you want to take part in that party’s primary election.
Line 8: Race or Ethnic Group. Leave blank.
Line 9: Signature. To register in Maryland you must:
1) be a U.S. citizen; 2) be a Maryland resident; 3) be at least 18 years old by the next general election; 4) not be under guardianship for mental disability; 5) not have been convicted more than once of an infamous crime,* without a pardon; and 6) not be under sentence or on probation following conviction of an infamous crime
* INFAMOUS CRIME means any felony, treason, perjury, or any crime involving an element of deceit, fraud or corruption
